Trent Bridge replacement by WSDOT begins

Friday, February 4, 2022

Update: One of 10 girders is lowered onto the foundation of the East Trent Bridge. The remaining girders are expected to be installed this week. The bridge spans the Spokane River, just east of Hamilton Street in East Spokane. Garco Construction Inc. is the contractor on the nearly $23.5 million bridge replacement and resurfacing project.

WSDOT will be replacing this 1910 bridge with a new structure. For information on this project, see this page and this recent article in The Spokesman-Review.

Garco Construction is the Prime Contractor.

Work will begin in early March, 2020 with some bird-netting installation.

Trent will be closed in early June 2020.

The project is expected to last up to four years due to the allowable in-water work windows allowed
