Downtown Spokane Invites Community to Join “Fall Clean Week”

Friday, October 17, 2025

Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) invites community members, workers, and visitors to roll up their sleeves and help keep downtown looking its best during Fall Clean Week, taking place October 13 through 17, 2025.

The weeklong initiative celebrates civic pride while preparing downtown’s “Front Porch” for a busy fall season filled with local events and activities. From sidewalk sweeping to graffiti cleanup, volunteers and city crews will work together to beautify public spaces and ensure that downtown Spokane remains a welcoming destination for everyone.

  • Each day of Fall Clean Week will feature a unique focus area:
  • Monday: Sidewalk Day – clean and sweep public walkways
  • Tuesday: Graffiti Day – assist with mural washing and graffiti abatement in collaboration with Spokane Arts
  • Wednesday: Alley & Underpass Day – refresh overlooked urban spaces
  • Thursday: Green Spaces – tidy up parks, planters, and tree wells

Volunteer crews will meet daily at 11am to get out and get dirty for downtown. Signups available at www.citysquad.club/volunteer-opportunities.

Throughout the week, downtown will see extra waste containers, coordinated street sweeping, and enhanced garbage collection to maintain a clean, vibrant environment.

“Fall Clean Week is a hands-on way to show love for our downtown,” says Eddie Castillo, DSP placemaking manager. “When we take pride in our shared spaces, we create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming city for everyone.”

The effort is made possible by community volunteers, local sponsors, and partners like Spokane Arts. Sponsorships and volunteer sign-ups help fund supplies, activities, and promotion for this annual initiative.
