July WSU Health Sciences Checkup by Dr. Daryll DeWald, Executive VP WSU Health Sciences and Chancellor, WSU Spokane
WSU Health Sciences continues to cultivate partnerships across Washington through hands-on healthcare initiatives, educating those who will directly serve the communities.
The month of June has brought a bright look into the future of healthcare in Washington. Not only did the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine see the inaugural class of doctors graduate from its first medical residency program, but we welcomed the first-ever cohort of doctors to serve in the college's new pediatric residency program. Both cohorts, whether starting or completing their program, will be making a direct healthcare impact on communities in the state of Washington.
Additionally, our team took to the road to visit the Zamierowski Insitute for Experiential Learning, a simulation facility designed by the University of Kansas and the University of Arizona's Educational Technology & Education Center.
As we embark on the design and development of the Team Health Education Building, a cutting-edge health education and simulation facility in Spokane, we seek to learn from and implement the best practices of institutions nationwide. Through facility design and curriculum, we aim to support the effective preparation of our Health Sciences Cougs so they can better serve their communities.
