MLK: 2021 and Beyond - a virtual talk back event - Jan 13

The City of Spokane presents, "MLK: 2021 & Beyond", a virtual talkback event on diversity and social justice on Wednesday, January 13.

2020 in many ways highlighted the many disparities experienced by people of color in our country and our community.  That experience has been expressed by many Spokane community leaders throughout the years, especially in our black community.  This event is created to have a conversation amongst community members about the legacy of MLK, our current times, and what actions we can together take going forward

3:45pm – play “I Have a Dream" speech by Martin Luther King, Jr.

4pm - 4:30pm – Introduction and conversation amongst panelists (Councilwoman Betsy Wilkerson, Spokane Public Schools Board's Jerrall Haynes, and Shantell Jackson of WSU)

Moderated by Cupid Alexander and Alex Gibilisco.

4:30pm - Open it up for audience reflections and questions
