Elaine Couture, Spokane-based executive vice president for Providence, and chief executive for the health care network's Washington and Montana region, has announced she will retire in early 2021. Under her leadership, Providence’s presence in the region has grown to more than 21,000 caregivers, 127,000 annual hospital admissions, and more than 1,800 physicians/providers, Providence said in a statement regarding Couture’s planned retirement. In 2019, the Providence and Kadlec service areas Couture oversees invested more than $393.6 million to address communities’ health care needs. Providence plans to make more announcements about the leadership transition in the Washington and Montana region prior to Couture’s departure.
