Saranac Art Projects January Show: CONTENT AWARE: ASHLEY VAUGHN + PASSENGERS: ANN PORTER

Friday, January 31, 2020

Ann Porter’s latest body of work, Passengers, opens at the Saranac Gallery for the month of January. This latest work examines the attitudes of people as they wait in airports. Based on candid photographs from terminals all over the country, this work includes paintings, small-scale experimental prints and large-scale silk hangings.

Porter is a practicing artist and art professor emeritus from Black Hills State University. She has shown both locally and nationally.

Ashley Vaughn’s upcoming art show, Content Aware, explores the idea of content through drawing, words, photographs and the domestic frame. There will be a participatory aspect during the opening reception on January 3rd that will invite the public to contribute further considerations that will be integrated into the show throughout the month of January. All are welcome and encouraged to participate!

If you are unable to attend the opening reception, the show will be up through the January 29th. Hope to see you there!
