Gonzaga Presents Women’s Leadership Lunch - Nov 1

Thursday, November 1, 2018

SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga University’s School of Leadership Studies presents a fall women’s leadership luncheon titled “The Power of Shame” — part of its Women Lead conference series designed to educate and empower women — from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1 in the Hemmingson Center Ballroom. Register by Oct. 26 at www.gonzaga.edu/womenlead.

Rachelle Strawther, director of leadership training & development for the School of Leadership Studies, will present the keynote address. This interactive presentation will help attendees identify obstacles that hold people back from becoming their best selves, both in the workplace and at home.

Strawther will discuss how shame can get in the way of new opportunities, lock us to past experiences, and compel us to carry burdens unnecessarily. She will explain how shame shows up in our lives (particularly in relationship to gender), how to disarm it, and how to communicate without shaming others.

The luncheon, which is open to people of all genders, will provide opportunity for education and networking for professionals of all ages and industries.

Cost is $39 until Oct. 26 and includes lunch. For more information, visit www.gonzaga.edu/womenlead or call Sherri Lynch at (509) 313-3684.
