We are thrilled to announce that David King, CEO & Chairman of LabCorp will give the keynote address. David P. King is chairman and CEO of LabCorp (NYSE: LH), a leading global life sciences company that is deeply integrated in guiding patient care. With a mission to improve health and improve lives, LabCorp delivers world-class diagnostic solutions, brings innovative medicines to patients faster and uses technology-driven solutions to improve the delivery of care. King has led LabCorp for more than 10 years; in 2016, the company delivered nearly $9.5 billion in revenue with more than 52,000 employees in approximately 60 countries.

 

Prior to becoming CEO on January 1, 2007, King served as LabCorp’s executive vice president and chief operating officer since 2005. Previously, he served as head of the company’s US LABS/Esoterix division, one of the nation’s leading specialty testing and cancer diagnostic laboratories. He also served as executive vice president of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development. He currently chairs the company’s executive committee.


King joined LabCorp as senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer in 2001 after serving for several years as the company’s outside counsel. Prior to joining the company, he was a partner with Hogan & Hartson L.L.P. (now Hogan Lovells) in Baltimore, Maryland, from 1992 to 2001, and previously served as a federal prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice.


King serves on the boards of Cardinal Health, Inc. (NYSE: CAH), a Fortune 20 healthcare company, and PATH, a nonprofit global health organization. He is a member of the board of the American Clinical Laboratory Association (ACLA) and served as its chair from 2010 to 2014. King also serves on the board of directors of the Seattle Science Foundation and the board of trustees of Elon University in Elon, North Carolina. In 2017, King was appointed to the advisory board for Duke University’s Robert J. Margolis, MD, Center for Health Policy.
King, 61, holds an AB degree, cum laude, from Princeton University and a JD degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Read the news release here.
