Tuesday, August 8, 2017

SEATTLE – Gonzaga University celebrated the Seattle Summer Biomedical Internship program Tuesday, thanking those responsible for allowing 11 highly qualified Gonzaga undergraduates to participate in the unique and valuable internships in which they conducted research and received mentoring from physicians and other medical professionals.

The students who recently completed the program presented their research at Swedish Medical Center. The day also included a tour of the facilities where the students did their internships, and concluded with an evening reception, hosted by Gonzaga, at the Seattle Tennis Club.

Under the direction of Drs. Terry and Marc Mayberg and the leadership of Jennifer Hansberry, the director of Swedish Research and Innovation, the program is now in its third year.

Faculty from Gonzaga’s School of Nursing and Human Physiology and campus leaders – including Interim Academic Vice President Elisabeth Elisabeth Mermann-Jozwiak – also will be on hand for the day’s events.
