Thursday, August 31, 2017

The University District board of directors celebrated and honored outgoing board member Chancellor Lisa Brown (pictured with University District board chair Karl Otterstrom at left and University District executive director Lars Gilbers at right) at the August 1 board meeting.

Lisa will serve until August 31 at which time Dr. Daryll DeWald will take her place as the new Washington State University representative.

During her board term from 2013-2017,  and during her 20-years as a Democratic leader in the Washington state Senate, Lisa was a key leader in advancing revitalization and growth in Spokane and the University District area.

Thanks to her tireless efforts, she was instrumental in the formation of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine and in securing funding for two new medical buildings on the Washington State University Health Sciences Spokane campus.

The board, along with the entire community, recognizes Lisa for her profound impact and exceptional leadership in the University District and well beyond!
