Northwest Entrepreneur Competition recap

The 2017 Northwest Entrepreneur Competition (NEC) took place last week, with 26 different business plans being pitched from five area universities and two local high schools.
The pitches were divided into three categories: technology, traditional, and open. A first, second, and third place winner was selected for each category, with first place winning $7,000 and a free three-month membership to Startup Spokane's co-working space, second place winning $3,000 and two free months at Startup, and third place winning $1,000 and one free month.
Here is a breakdown of winners by category:
Technology
1st - Traveler's Bracelet: a wearable device using RFID technology to alert the wearer if a tagged item is either being moved or has left a five-foot radius of the bracelet.
2nd - Sense Service

Traditional
1st - Illusory Gearbox: a hands-on, take-home kit for kids that teaches cognitive skills like critical thinking and attention to detail.
2nd - Titan Tactical Innovations
3rd - Polymorphic Games
Open
1st - Style Her Empowered: a non-profit teaching school-age girls in Togo, Africa how to sew school uniforms as a way to both acquire a marketable skill and afford school.
2nd - Slider Shears
3rd - Barrel CRM
