University District executive director position opening

The University District is accepting applications for the University District executive director position.

This role serves two boards: the non-profit University District Development Association (UDDA) board and the University District Public Development Authority (UDPDA) board. To be considered for the executive director position, you must submit a cover letter, resume and a completed/signed Employment Application. The Search Committee will begin reviewing all completed materials for eligibility on February 2 at noon.

Unless your application materials are incomplete, no advance information regarding the status of your application will be provided prior to February 13th; at which time we will inform you if you are/are not one of the six applicants invited to interview with our Search Committee on February 23. From there, on February 24, we will inform the six applicants if they are/are not one of the three final candidates selected to present to the full University District board of directors on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 7.

Please be sure to note these key dates on your personal calendars should you advance through the search process. We will not provide alternative interview dates.

  • January 13 – Recruitment opens
  • February 2 – First screen of applications, 12:00pm
  • February 13 – Applicants notified via email regarding Round One interviews; six applicants invited to interview with Search Committee on February 23; staff begins scheduling with six invitees. Additional information regarding Search Committee members and interview questions sent to invitees.
  • February 23 Round One interviews with University District Search Committee - The committee will interview six candidates for 50 minutes each at The University District offices.
  • February 24 – Candidates notified via email regarding Round Two presentation invitations; staff begins scheduling with three invitees. Additional information regarding the board meeting and presentation instructions sent to invitees. Reference and background checks commence.
  • March 7 Round Two presentations at University District board meeting - Round Two candidate presentations/interviews, 2:00pm-5:00pm plus 5:00-6:00pm social hour with final three candidates and University District board members.
  • Mid-March – Final three candidates notified regarding selection status. Offer extended to successful final candidate.
  • April 3 – New executive director’s proposed start date.
  • April 4 – New executive director attends University District board meeting.
  • Week of April 4 - Press release announcing the new director will be posted on our News http://www.spokaneudistrict.org/news and Staff and Office http://www.spokaneudistrict.org/staff-office web pages.
